My name is Chris Wells. I am co-founder and Creative Director for Folk Labs – a creative digital software development agency.
Thus far in my career I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy working on projects for commercial clients and central government as well as with charities, NGOs and social enterprises.
I’ve rebranded IPPF – one of the world’s largest voluntary organisations, art directed the global campaign launch of Vision2020 at the UN and also led the design of several major international health conferences. Oh, and in the past nine years, I’ve directly designed or managed nearly 900 creative projects.
I’m familiar with the unique issues presented by charity and nonprofit brands which can undermine successful creative projects. I am also skilled in facilitating nonprofit clients across the inevitable gap between their organisational strategies and creativity. By taking an integrated systems approach to production, combining it with information architecture, content strategy and writing, I’ve increased efficiency and cut costs while maintaining high production values.
Now, with over 15 years’ creative experience, I’ve chosen to commit my career to helping nonprofits and social enterprises more successfully achieve their mission by better expressing their brand to their stakeholders.
I also hope to encourage creative agencies to apply their expertise to social issues in direct partnership with nonprofit organisations and even for some creatives to pursue a career inside the nonprofit sector.
I am constantly seeking new ways to meet these goals and I need your help.
